Through 8th Grade of J-Kiki

Keana:
The way I felt about reading in September was like reading is what ill do on my spare time. Now the way I feel about reading is that I like to read most of the time. It changed I think is because Mr.Locker has some books that is just so interesting sort of like a "page turner". Some books he has I couldn't put down most are:New Moon by Stephenie Meyer and White Is For Magic. The way I decide how to pick a book is by the cover. I know the saying "don't judge a book by its cover". But when i do those books are really interesting. I also read the blurs and I ask my friends who read the book if it's good.

Jeickson:
Back in September to now how I changed in my reading was that in September i use to skim through the pages, I didn't make pictures in my head. Also I didn't ask myself questions in my mind. Like what's going to happen next. Now I know when to stop
and think about what's going to happen next. I know how to make pictures in my head while reading my book. Also I know how to ask questions in my mind. Back in September I use to read slow, now I think I improved in my reading and took a step up on my reading level. I remember I read this book called "Forged by Fire". This book was really interesting because the book speaks about how a big brother and a little sister survive from their step father. Another book I read was this book called "Red Midnight" it was by Ben Mikaelsen. This book was so interesting. The book was about a boy that was eleven and a little girl that was five. They had to go to the United States Of America cause where they lived there war with the soldiers. This probably means that probably I could read faster then I use to back in September. I think as a reader I grew a lot. I accomplished my mission that my humanities teacher told me. Now in the last month of school I'm proud of myself for taking and doing all this. So that's how I grew during my year in the 8th grade.

  1. Yo, Kiki:

It seems like you really changed a lot this past year in terms of your attitudes about reading and writing. This will serve you well during your high school years and beyond.

Peace out, and good luck next year.
